My New Year's resolution is to get this Blog up and running and to update it on a regular basis.
It has been fantastic over the past three months to see the new White Box Studio in action. Our City and Guilds 7512 courses are proving to be extremely popular; this the first year that CALAT has been able to offer any Level 2 Photography courses and many of our old learners have returned in order to obtain this new qualification. I am hoping that lots of these learners will become active on this Blog and post some examples of their excellent work!
I am teaching AS Level Photography for the first time for many years. The creativity of this group of young learner's knows no bounds and I hope that many of the group will be heading off to study on BA Photography and Art Foundation Courses next September.
And finally! Joe and I ended the year by spending last Wednesday on a great day out with some of the Level 2 learners. After starting at a dismal South Bank, moving to a very busy British Museum and finally taking some interesting images at St Pancras Station we headed for the 'Points of View' exhibition at The British Library. It is fantastic. Anyone who has heard Joe and I going on about 30 second exposures and climbing a mountain with your camera and darkroom on your back will find that it all comes too life. For anyone interested in the History of Photograph (or even photography) this exhibition is a must. It is free, on until March 7th and, although we will be returning for a second look, I would like to recommend it to you all.
It is nearly midnight on 01-01-10 I must publish this post now or my New Years Resolution will be out the window on the first day of the year.
Best Wishes for The New Year
